It has a flat ground VG-10 blade that will take and hold a razor edge. The handle is durable and shaped well.The only problem I see with it is that the blade measures 4 5/16". Here in New York City, a knife blade must be under 4" for the knife to be street legal. There are quite a few other locales with similar regulations. That's why Benchmade Knives are frequently made with blades that measure 3.9". That tenth of an inch prevents posession of the knife from being a class D misdemeanor here in NYC.
