It has a variable speed drive Dewalt gives you 3 choices in drive size - 1/4 , 3/8 (this one ) or 1/2". I chose 3/8 and had to look hard for it because I wanted to use my 3/8 sockets I already owned. I have a dewalt 1/2" impact wrench with 1/2" sockets that runs on 110 vac so this is my "tiny" solution for nuts. As for 1/4" drivers, I'm deferring that size to the small power screwdriver type low torque drivers. I was surprised how hard it was to find a 3/8" drive - my sockets are all 3/8 and this has the nice snap ring holder so it's a great system altogether.
